-This tutorial show's how to make a brushed metal texture that has been painted with a green camouflage.

 

 

1

a. Start with a file 400 x 400px

b. Hit D to reset your colors to black and white.

c. Go to Filter>Render>Clouds

d. Next go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast...

use these settings:

Contrast: -50

a. Go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise...

use these settings:

Amount: 17.5 %

Distribution: Gaussian

Monochromatic: Checked

a. Go to Filter>Brush Strokes>Angled Strokes...

use these settings:

Direction balance: 41

Stroke length: 24

Sharpness: 2

a. Make a new layer by hitting the new layer button

a. Set your foreground and background colors to 76CE35 and 3C681B respectively.

b. Go to Filter>Render>Clouds

a. Go to Filter>Artistic>Sponge...

use these settings:

Brush Size: 6

Definition: 9

Smoothness: 5

b. Make a new layer and repeat steps 4 through 5.a

c. Change the new layer's blend mode to Soft Light

d. After you change the mode to soft light, hit Ctrl + E to merge the two camo layers.

a. Now change the blend mode of the newly merged layer to Overlay.

b. Your image should now look like this:
