a. Now turn the blend mode of your Scan layer to Color Dodge. Deselect by hitting ctrl + D if you haven't already.

a. We are now ready to edit our image in Imageready. To switch to image ready hit this button:

a. Move the Scan Layer off the viewable area like this:

using the move tool.

 

b. Next look for the Animation Palette. Its usually at the bottom of the screen, if you can't find it go to Window>Animation

c. Hit the New Frame button I have it circled in red here.

 

d. Now with the second frame selected move the position the scan layer like this:

a. Now hit the Tween button.

-Tween is a tool that creates a transition between two frames, in this case it will move the layer from top to bottom. The more frames you choose to insert the smoother the motion will be, but it will also increase the file size quite a bit.

b. These are the settings I used:

a. Now click on the last frame, hold shift, scroll over and click on the first frame. This will allow you to edit the delay of all the frames at the same time.

b. Now change the delay of the frames to .1 seconds.

c. To see if the gif came out the way you wanted you can hit this button to preview it.

It should look something like this:

 

 

Toss in a tech-type border and you have yourself a pretty slick looking signature.
